This is a great book for adults because it covers piano theory quickly. it uses popular pieces to illustrate the theory. i don't really like the music that much, but it really gets the point across, so i see why these songs were selected. Mr. Neely has done an excellent job presenting valuable material and holding my attention till the end. there is also a CD that comes with the book, which is critical to a student trying to learn without benefit of a teacher to play the songs as they are supposed to be played. I purchased and read this book a year ago, when i first started to learn the piano. Now that i have been playing the piano for a year, i can look back and say i am really glad i used this book, because it gave me the background i needed to get thru my first year and beyond.

I took piano lessons for 7 years, that was 35 years ago. This is a great refresher book for me.
